Bringing suicide and mental health awareness into the open and encouraging conversations that can make a difference.
Honoring the lives of those we’ve lost while giving families, friends, and the community a meaningful place to remember them.
Connecting people in our community with local and national mental health resources, support, and people who are ready to help.
Fenn’s Towing teamed up with Shading Rays with a shared goal of doing something meaningful for the community. After learning that the Shading Rays family had been personally affected by suicide, and with both teams sharing a love of cars, the idea for a community car show began to take shape.
Drive Out The Darkness grew into an event focused on suicide awareness, remembrance, and connecting people with resources and support. Despite several other community events happening the same day, the turnout was incredible. Fenn’s is proud of what the two teams were able to accomplish together and looks forward to bringing the community together again next year.
Behind every statistic is a real person with a real story. These firsthand experiences share the struggles, recovery, and hope of people who have faced some of their darkest moments and chosen to speak openly so others know they are not alone.
I share my story because I want others to know they are not alone and that there is hope after a suicide attempt.

As a suicide attempt survivor, my message to those who are struggling is that there is, in fact, hope out there

I have also experienced the support, the understanding, and the love that carries people like me from one day to the next.
The first Drive Out The Darkness brought the community together on August 15, 2026, at the Union County Fairgrounds for a day of cars, local vendors, family activities, remembrance, and suicide awareness. The support and turnout showed just how much this event can mean to our community.
Fenn’s Towing and Shading Rays are looking forward to bringing Drive Out The Darkness back again next year, continuing the mission of raising awareness, connecting people with resources, and reminding those who may be struggling that they don’t have to face it alone.
